Airwolf
Airwolf was a video game for the Nintendo Entertainment System based on a television series originally aired from 1984 to 1987. The series centers around an advanced prototype supersonic helicopter and a pilot named Stringfellow Hawke. In the game Hawke must fly the Airwolf to a series of POW camps to rescue the prisoners being held captive.
Air Fortress
In the game Air Fortress, the people of Planet Farmel have developed a Lightship which can travel to other galaxies. While the Space Frontier Exploration Fleets are scouting the Yubbert Galaxy, they discover a group of eight space fortresses which survive by destroying and feeding on civilizations. These fortresses are on the way to Farmel and it is up to the hero Hal Bailman to save the planet from destruction.
Advanced Dungeons & Dragons: Dragonstrike
Once again departing from the role-playing genre, Advanced Dungeons & Dragons: Dragonstrike presented a top-down flying shooter game set within the Dungeons & Dragons universe. The game was released for home computers in 1990 and the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1992. This represented the third AD&D game released for NES.
Abadox: The Deadly Inner War
Abadox: The Deadly Inner War takes place in the year 5012. A strange cytoplasmic creature known as Parasitis has swallowed the entire planet Abadox. To make matters worse, Parasitis has also swallowed an orbiting hospital ship with the beautiful Princess Maria on board. The World Alive Force launched an attack to on Parasitis but was unsuccessful. It is up to the lone survivor Second Lieutenant Nazal to venture inside of Parasitis to destroy it and save the princess!
1943: The Battle of Midway
Are you ready for the ultimate air/sea battle? The game 1943 is the sequel to the extremely successful 1942 vertically scrolling shooter game released in the previous year. The setting for the game is off the coast of the Midway Islands. A Japanese fleet has bombed an American aircraft carrier and it is your mission to pursue and attack Japanese air and sea forces. There are 16 levels of action, each with a boss battle.

In the game 1942, you control a Lockheed P-38 Lightning plane known as “Super Ace.” The game is set during World War II in the Pacific Theater, and you must battle your way through enemy Japanese planes to reach Tokyo. This early vertical scrolling shooter game featured 32 stages of action over land, sea, and air. During game play you can flow over the POW to gain additional power. You can also execute a “Loop the Loop” to avoid heavy enemy fire.
